The word Food fair or carnival makes our taste buds wait for viewing and sense the aroma in the air of different food in the world. 

Showcasing the signature dishes from different states,   reflect the culture of a particular/different state. and inculcate the benefits of eating healthy food. New innovative dishes using ingredients of different origin,  showcase the delicacies, which brings out authentic recipes across the country is felt in the fair. Conducting games is a hallmark of a carnival. It arouses anxiety among the students to be a part of it. A highlight of the food carnival is tasting the delicacies and authentic flavors that can be enjoyed endlessly.

I always feel that every child should get the best form of food in their lifetime. But food should be balanced, nutritious, and fulfill their hunger. At the food carnival, children get a chance to explore different food and to know more details about them.

 

The objective of the food carnival

To educate people on agricultural biodiversity, encourage conservation by making traditional recipes from lesser known crops which are now gaining importance. To encourage people to use locally grown food and eat seasonal food In every part of the celebration, food plays a vital role in uniting people across the border and having a common identity Success of a food carnival depends on extended efforts and unwavering faith and common threat for success is to know that what the student community wants. In schools, food carnivals are more than family events, where the parents take an active part and are involved in them.

It is all about celebrating, enjoying, and tasting different types of food and drinks. These ‘foodie culture’ events have gained popularity recently through uniting communities through the harvest celebration. Strengthening agents for local cultural heritage can finally reach the international audience. It becomes an integral part of food tourism, and people keep attending it regularly. Figuring out prizes for all age groups would pull in more crowds.

Along with food, food vendors, games of chance and skill, thrill acts, animal acts, other stalls like handicraft sales, bamboo works, rice-artist, nail art, puppet show bangle making, magician, kids, and ladies wear stall, horse ride, camel ride, folk dance, face painting, tattooing, Mehandi artist, cotton candy add fervor to the fest.

 

It allows learning about safe food, healthy diets, good eating habits, nutrition, and health benefits of food, and a quick test for adulterants can all be brought as advice by experts. Food always bonds people and helps in better interaction for any celebration. Food is associated with religion and culture and proclaims who we are. Food brings people together universally. The goal of a food carnival is to re-introduce / re-affirm the value of the food system and culture. It is a diverse community-driven activity that can empower people from all walks of life.

The idea of hosting a food carnival is a welcome note where children enjoyed the day and learned about how food comes to us as raw materials and the importance of respecting farmers.

 

The idea of hosting a food carnival is a welcome note, where children enjoyed the days and learned about how food comes to us as raw materials and the importance of respecting farmers. So, at school, I insist the teachers have a pot- lunch term wise which will be an initial start for hosting a food carnival at the end of the academic year. This might bring a lot of enthusiastic participation and healthy sharing among the students.

Hello! I am Afsar Jumail currently doing Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning at the Chennai Institute of Technology. I am a foodie who loves to taste and eat a variety of food. At school when food carnivals are conducted, I get a nice chance to learn about different varieties of foods, their origin, ingredients, and their health benefits. From the experience gained in school, I wanted to conduct a food festival mainly oriented to South Indian food culture where everyone knows the importance of the farmers and their struggle in providing good resources of food.
